Wow, this is a great cover!! It really does justice to Hammett's hardboiled style. My copy of The Thin Man is a 2006 edition and the cover makes it look like a tacky daytime tv thriller. I ought to print this one out and stick it on instead!

I'm not a huge fan of the type, but I love the cropping on the images of all these covers. They're so evocative of the sense of mystery and deception in his work. This might be my favorite of the series.
These covers are a bit too retro for me. I understand the concept but I think it's really unnecessary for Hammett. I also don't like the type or the treatment of the sizes. The artwork is so hackneyed and, again, obvious. But I do love the cropping and the colors. I have an old paperback of the Thin Man that had a great b&w photo of Hammett on it. (He really was the ultimate (gorgeous) thin man.) So perhaps it would be hard for me to warm to such a different style.

Love these covers!
What's the sans serif font, please?
Thanks!
