It's not exactly a very fitting design, even though there are worse.
I know Chip Kidd was given this job before, and his ideas got rejected – unfortunate for both author and potential readers, since Kidd had much better ideas (he recently presented them at a conference). Too bad they rejected those.

…but I guess this designer suffered just as much from all the incompetent people that have a say in choosing a cover, like marketing.
I like his other designs, so no offense.

The lettering credits for this one are listed as "Ruby, Ella, Richard, Loulla and Albert", but there's no way I'm entering that into the database. Ha!
