In all honesty, the reason I bought this book ( thru Hist.Book Club) was the cover. Not so much the design, but the photo itself, in particular the soldier looking back(at his unseen comrades) with a smile on his face. The duality of man? Of course my eyes were drawn immediately to the clumsy Photoshopping (cloning) of the trees in left corner to extend the height of the image. With a little, very little more skill this could have been MUCH less obvious, Darren. It's a good book.

Maybe I was a little harsh. Instead of "skill", I perhaps should have said a little more TIME could have been spent on the cloning. Anyway, it is a good design, overall.
